DistroDesigner Developer

Know how your building connects to the grid before you commit.

A due diligence report on a development’s grid connection, produced during pre-construction, while the answer can still change a decision.

The problem

Every developer wants to know how their project will connect to the grid.

Skipping electrical due diligence is expensive. Most developers buy the land and design the building before they learn what connecting it to the grid will cost. When that answer is a multi-million dollar bill, the decisions it should have shaped are already made, and some projects do not survive it.

The grid connection can be a costly surprise when it is learned late. The usual development process rarely asks the question early, while the answer could still change a decision. DistroDesigner Developer does.

What DistroDesigner Developer answers

Enter the address, the project details, and you're done. The report provides insight into the electrical:

  • Connection scope: the equipment required, and which party is responsible for each part of the work
  • Requirements: additional equipment required, Vista switches, additional utilities that require engagement, and the design challenges the site presents
  • Design: the connection schematic, and how existing overhead poles can be moved or modified

Built for BC developments over 500 kVA of CEC load, or that do not qualify for an express connection. This is not an engineering product.

How it works

Ten proprietary engines in a five-step workflow.

Each report starts with the site’s electrical loading and location.

  1. Load

The project's estimated load profile is assessed.

  2. Overhead

Existing overhead infrastructure nearby the project is assessed.

  3. Underground

Existing underground infrastructure around the project is assessed.

  4. Design

Every viable connection design is created, then scored and ranked by complexity.

  5. Report

The due diligence report and the connection schematic are generated.
